1. What is Meat N' Bone?

Meat N’ Bone is a best-in-class omnichannel butcher built to help you shop—and cook—like a chef.

We have a mandate to support American farmers and source most of our proteins from the U.S. However, we also rigorously source from international programs (Australia, Japan, Spain, and more), prioritizing ethical and sustainability-minded practices, with no added hormones, USDA-inspected facilities, and true traceability.

Our portfolio spans 400+ chef-grade proteins — USDA Prime/Choice, American & Australian Wagyu, certified Japanese A5 Wagyu, Domestic & Ibérico pork, lamb, poultry, seafood, and game — all hand-butchered to spec, hard-chilled, vacuum-sealed, and delivered nationwide through a maintained cold chain, with local delivery and pickup at our Florida boutiques.

  • Clear education and cooking guidance — from primers like Beef Grading 201 to how-tos like How to Cook the Perfect Denver Steak.
  • Concierge-style customer service that actually solves problems.
  • Convenience at every step — from choosing the right cut to nailing the sear at home.

2. Where do our products come from?

We started with just 30 proteins from a single farm. Today, we carry 400+ products from programs around the world — always best-in-class. Every product description outlines sourcing details.

  • Beef (Choice & Prime): Midwestern U.S. farms (Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa, Illinois). All of our beef is G1 Certified, the highest USDA grading standard. G1 means each carcass is hand-selected by USDA graders for marbling, maturity, and color — ensuring you’re always getting the top 3% of USDA Choice and Prime. We also wet age all our beef for consistency and flavor.
  • Domestic Wagyu: Mostly Colorado and North Texas.
  • Japanese Wagyu: From prefectures like Miyazaki, Hyogo (Kobe), Kyoto, and Kagoshima. We work with JFOODO and the Japanese government to ensure authenticity. Explore Japanese Wagyu.
  • Wagyu-Angus Cross (Prime+): From the U.S. or Australia.
  • Full Blood Wagyu: From both U.S. and Australian elite programs.
  • Grass-Fed Beef: A single-farm program in Nebraska (Prime-grade). See our Grass-Fed Collection.
  • Duck, Turkey: 100% U.S. sourced & processed. Chicken from Amish country.
  • Pork: Midwestern (USA) or from Spain, if Ibérico.
  • Game Meats: All over the world; we search for best-in-class programs.
  • Seafood: A curated mix of wild-caught and top-tier farmed — all sustainably sourced. See our Seafood Collection.

2A. What about our seafood — is it sustainable, sushi or sashimi grade?

We take seafood as seriously as beef. Our goal is to offer the cleanest, safest, and most flavorful seafood programs available.

2B. What makes our sausages different?

Our sausages aren’t afterthoughts — they’re small-batch, gourmet creations designed for food lovers.

3. Can I find this quality at a supermarket?

  • Our beef is wet-aged minimum 30 days. We also offer Dry Aged beef up to 60 days.
  • All steaks are hand-selected & hand-cut (±5% size variation — the butcher’s margin of error).
  • Frozen items are flash-frozen within 10–15 days, not stockpiled for months.
  • Labels like “Prime,” “Choice,” or “Grass-Fed” are often misused. Only USDA Prime and USDA Choice mean what they claim. Wagyu and Grass-Fed are otherwise unregulated in the U.S.

4. How do we compare to Wild Fork?

We don’t. Wild Fork (owned by JBS) buys in bulk, freezes, and sells cheap. That’s supermarket meat with a shiny name. They do have some good products, but we do not play in the same segment.

We do most things differently: small programs, rigorous sourcing, true premium standards.

5. What does “Available in 48 hrs / 4 days” mean?

  • We restock Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. If an item isn’t in stock, it’s usually back within a couple of days.
  • Need same-day delivery? Only choose items showing in-stock.
  • “Sold out” means we don’t have an ETA.
  • Have questions? Reach out — email is best.

6. Why is my steak a little bigger or smaller?

  • Every steak is unique. We cut by hand with care. We do not machine-cut or blade-tenderize.
  • Expect ±5% size difference (the butcher’s margin of error).
  • Animals are living beings with natural variations — and that’s the beauty of real food.
  • Some products are natural fall items; they are the size they are.

7. Coupons, Discounts, & Pricing

  • One coupon per order (including free shipping thresholds).
  • We rarely discount. Meat is a commodity; prices fluctuate with supply & demand.
  • We keep operations lean to deliver premium at fair value.

8. Is our meat organic?

We believe organic certification isn’t the same as quality. We choose transparency and best practices over labels. While we do work with some organic product, we do not take USDA Organic standards at face value.

9. Grass-fed vs. Grain-finished

  • All cattle start grass-fed.
  • Many are grain-finished with corn or wheat to improve marbling & flavor.
  • We also carry 100% Grass-Fed & Grass-Finished Prime beef from Nebraska.

16. How much meat per person?

  • Standard serving: Men ~10 oz, Women ~6 oz (raw, pre-cooked weight)
  • Rule of thumb: 6–12 oz protein per person (raw, pre-cooked weight)
  • Large roasts (pork shoulder, turkey, brisket, whole pig): ~1.5 lbs per person

17. How do we deliver?

  • If you’re local, we’ll call, knock, and hand-deliver your order.
  • Outside Florida, we ship vacuum-sealed in insulated boxes.
  • We use technology to enhance — not replace — old-school butcher service.

18. Storage, Freezing & Thawing

  • Fridge: 3–4 days at 30–34°F (continues wet-aging)
  • Freezer: 6 months typical, 2–3 years vacuum-sealed
  • Thawing: In fridge (12+ hrs), cold water (~45 min), microwave (last resort)
  • Thawed but cold? Still safe. Vacuum leaks can happen — not an issue if cold.

19. Seafood Deliveries

  • Should arrive frozen or partially frozen (except smoked fish)
  • Partially frozen is fine — store in the freezer immediately
  • Vacuum leaks can happen in transit, still safe if frozen or cold

20. Gel Packs

  • Our gel packs are non-toxic and food safe
  • If they touch your meats, just rinse with water — your product is safe

21. Vacuum Packaging

  • We vacuum seal all beef to keep it fresher longer
  • Meat may look darker (no oxygen)
  • May smell when first opened (“confinement odor”) — normal
  • Let rest 10–15 minutes exposed to air; color and smell normalize
