G1 Certified Beef is of the highest quality in the market. This means you will always get beef with moderate marbling, Grade A maturity and it is sourced specifically from farms in the MidWest. Our G1 Certified Angus Picanha has been wet aged for 30 days and comes from steers that weigh less than 1,050 lbs, fed with premium grain and pasture.

How should I cook Picanha?

Picanha is best cooked in open flames (charcoal or wood), though it can also be cooked with gas or in the oven. It is best cooked to Medium or Medium-Well. The fat layer is what makes all the difference, so do not trim it off before cooking.

Why do Picanha weight ranges vary?

While the Picanha (aka Coulotte) is not a muscle, it is not a steak, meaning we don't get to trim it and cut it to an exact weight. Each steer will be different and its Coulotte will be of a size. We price the Picanha to the lower end of the weight range, so if it's a 2-3 lb, we price it at 2 lbs. You are still getting what you paid for.

What is the difference between your ground beef and grocery store ground beef?

Most grocery store ground beef is pre-ground by large-scale meat processors, increasing the likelihood of contamination. Our ground beef is custom blended from whole sides of beef we butcher ourselves, using high quality prime meats and premium cuts like brisket, short ribs, and tenderloin.
