Not impressed
I’m going to be honest the color of it looks old. Has no red coloring at all it’s brownish gray. I’m not happy with the quality of the product either.
Meat N' Bone
Mark,
That is the color of Otoro (google o-toro). It is not supposed to be red like Maguro... it is also NOT treated with CO2 (like the Tuna Saku is). Also, the color will change once un-frozen and opened. However, if you are storing it in a regular freezer (as per the picture), do expect the color to get browner and browner... O-Toro and Chu-Toro must be stored at -40 Degrees (in a superfreezer) to conserver its color. Let us know how how you like it once you taste it.
LOSS OF WORDS
This literally after I cut it, melted on my plate slightly. This is single handedly the best tuna I’ve ever had the pleasure of eating. I made some sashimi, nigiri, and sushi. 10/10, honestly would give it more of A 100/10. 10 ten times over. It’s expensive, but it’s an experience that needs to be had. I used my own homemade sushi vinegar and koshihikari short grain rice. If I was able to, I would pull my pants down and make love to this. Words cannot describe it.
Soooo Amazing! Yummy Bluefin!
It is tough to even source bluefin but boy is it tasty. I should included a picture of it after we seared it but I was too busy gobbling it up. But trust me, it was awesome!!!
Fantastic BlueFin!
The Otoro was absolutely divine and fresh once unfrozen. We smashed it with a little sticky rice and crunchy chili oil with our filet mignons. Best surf n' turf ever!
Absolutely wonderful
Melt in your mouth tender. Sliced thin, on a R..z cracker, with a tiny dollop of caviar (lumpfish roe, what I had on hand). Such a perfect bite!
