Uni orders are nonrefundable and non-cancellable once we have ordered the Uni.
Shipping Uni FROZEN allows for simpler and more cost-efficient logistics, resulting in a lower sales price. However, the shipping cost isn't factored into the product price.
Uni, also known as sea urchin roe, is a highly prized delicacy in Japanese cuisine and can be enjoyed in many different ways.
Uni is typically described as having a sweet, creamy, and slightly briny flavor and its texture is often described as being soft and custardy. Enjoy uni with a sprinkle of lemon juice or a dash of soy sauce to enhance its flavor. It has a strong ocean smell and is thick, creamy, rich, and buttery in texture. A good friend of mine says eating Uni is like getting slapped by the sea...
This is a love-it-or-hate-it kind of flavor and texture.
Note that Uni is best FRESH as texture changes when frozen. However, frozen Uni can still be used for a variety of pastes, sauces, with rice, and even by itself with a nice glass of sake.
The best defrosting method for Uni would be overnight in the fridge. We wouldn't recommend any other way.
WHERE IS IT FROM?
This Uni is sourced from Boston, USA and it is some of the highest quality of Uni sold in the US. It is sustainably sourced by divers and it is "sushi grade". Our Uni gets delivered every couple of days, so it usually takes your order 48-72 hrs to ship.

HOW TO EAT UNI?
Sashimi: Uni is often served as sashimi, where it is thinly sliced and served raw with soy sauce and wasabi on the side.
On sushi rolls: Uni can also be used as a topping for sushi rolls, where it is placed on top of the rice and sometimes combined with other ingredients like avocado or salmon.
In a rice bowl: Uni can also be served over a bowl of steaming rice, sometimes with other ingredients like soy sauce, wasabi, and green onions.
As a sauce: Uni can be blended into a creamy sauce and used as a topping for pasta, rice bowls, or grilled seafood.
Mixed with other ingredients: Uni can also be mixed with ingredients like avocado, quail eggs, or scrambled eggs to create unique dishes.
When eating uni, it's important to use your sense of taste and smell to fully appreciate its unique flavor and texture.

Extreme Disappointment
This turned out to be expensive garbage and a major disappointment. I grew up on Sea Urchin and have never seen or tasted anything like this. The Sea Urchin was extremely dry and gritty and tasted like sand. The portion was child sized for $65.
Awesome
