About this Brewery and the Region: Obata Shuzo has been hand-making boutique premium sake since its founding in 1892, using pure, soft groundwater and world-famous sake rice. The kura is still owned and managed by the Obata family (Rumiko Obata). The toji (master brewer) is the acclaimed Kenya Kudo. The brewery has received multiple Gold Medals at the National New Sake Competition and the International Wine Challenge.
Elaboration: Pure Bloom, Sweet Junmai (no alcohol added) Ginjo Sake is brewed with only pure, soft groundwater and world-famous Niigata sake rice.
Tasting notes: Silvery straw color. Aromas of birch, dried citrus, turmeric, and young banana with a round, crisp, off-dry light-to-medium body and a smooth, elegant, medium-length star fruit, sweet yogurt, and guava finish. An off-dry, balanced Junmai Ginjo perfect for spicy fare; round and satisfying.
